Confirel has just launched its new E-commerce platform in France

Project initiated a few months ago by the arrival of Jean-Camillo Vargas, responsible for the company’s digital development in France and Europe, this launch of confirel.fr will allow Confirel to directly reach, for the first time, French and European customers. . This new stage in its international development is a major challenge for the company, which wants to increase its notoriety under the values of eco-responsibility and promotion of the Cambodian terroir on European soil. Can you give us more details on the launch of this website in France?

JCV: Since this month, French customers can buy our typical Cambodian products directly on the website www.confirel.fr , which will allow many French people, sensitive to eco-responsible, exotic and organic products, to discover the flavors of Cambodia through products from the first two Cambodian PGIs recognized by the European Union – PGI Pepper from Kampot and PGI palm sugar from Kampong Speu – such as Kampot Kirum pepper, palm sugar Thnot, Kampot pepper sauce, Kirum infusions made from Kampot pepper inflorescence, confectionery, etc.

To make our flavors accessible in France, we have chosen as partner the Byrd e-logistics platform, the European leader in e-commerce logistics in Europe. This partnership guarantees us an automated and fast logistics allowing the sending within 2 to 3 working days everywhere in France and in Europe on large volumes. It will also offer us development potential in Europe with 25 logistics centers in Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy and France.

What are the challenges of this development in Europe?

JCV: This new stage in Confirel’s international development is the result of the desire of its founder, Dr. Hay Ly Eang, to promote Cambodia in the world through the best productions from the rural world and thus contribute to the improvement of farmers’ incomes. We have a long-standing international presence through the B2B channel, that is selling to wholesalers or retailers. Digital today gives us the possibility of directly reaching the end consumer, which offers us growth prospects of another level. Our e-commerce site www.confirel.fr will allow us to better understand the purchasing behavior of French European consumers and to sharpen our offer accordingly.

Tell us a few words about the content of this site…

Its launch is a step that we have wanted to take for a long time because who better than us can talk to European consumers about our products and, above all, who better than us can talk about the values they convey. Confirel is an eco-responsible Cambodian company, proud of its land and as concerned about the living conditions of Cambodian farmers as the health of our customers. Our company, which has just received on the occasion of the ASEAN summit this month, in Phnom Penh, an “ASEAN BUSINESS AWARD” for its contribution to the economic development of the Southeast Asian region, promotes the circular economy as a development model. Our products are both the result and the vector of this commitment, so that buying them is as much a matter of a gourmet consumer’s approach as of a wise citizen of the world.
